A very happy new year 2023 to all of you.
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Byasakabi presenting you the 2nd Newsletter of Odisha.ml. The last newsletter was published way back on 27th Sep last year. A few days after the previous newsletter, we witnessed the third Odisha ML conference on 1st Oct 2022. If you have missed the conference, you can go through the conference recording.

Make in Odisha conclave
After 2016 and 2018 the 3rd edition of Make in Odisha has been conducted from 30th November to 4th December 2022.
Odisha received an overall investment proposal worth Rs. 10.5 lakh crore during the MIO Conclave 2022, with the potential to employ 10,37,701 people.

Col Aditya Parida visited Anil Pradhan’s Young Tinkers Academy.
Feels proud to see his patents and innovations beside the innovative training his academy is providing to students from all over! His 6 students have reached NASA in which 3 students are from rural Odisha! His efforts ignite young minds and replicate young tinkers space needs to be lauded, supported and encouraged.

One of our last three times conference speaker, Manoj Kumar Mishra joined as Principal Secretary, Electronics & Information Technology Department, Government of Odisha.
Biswaranjan Acharya’s co-authored article "A Robust Chronic Kidney
Disease Classifier Using Machine Learning" has been published in Electronics
as part of the Special Issue Big Data Analytics Using Artificial Intelligence
and is available online.
One of the core members and last conference convener Mr Pradeepta Mishra has joined as Co-Founder and Chief Architect in DataSafeguard.ai. Mr Mishra will help define overall product vision, and product architecture, drive technical execution and direct engineering teams across the globe while aligning to today’s market and customer needs.
An AI/ML awareness session of about 100 students was conducted by Col professor Parida, in MPC college Baripada at the initiative of Maharani of Mayurbhanj.

ChatGPT & beyond
If you are not living under a rock, you must have known how quickly in 5 days ChatGPT gained a million users. Here we will discuss the good, the bad and the ugly.
There has been a debate chatGPT will kill Google and other equivalent search engines. A running cost is involved in maintaining such a massive infrastructure for free. OpenAI may release a paid version plan for chatGPT to make both ends meet.
There are also very less users who will opt for a paid version of chatGPT; they will continue being a product.
On the other hand Google though they have indirectly contributed to the core of chatGPT by developing
Google may be reluctant to deploy this new tech as a replacement for online search, however, because it is not suited to delivering digital ads, which accounted for more than 80 percent of the company’s revenue last year.
ChatGPT because of its limited knowledge of not getting any clue of what happened after 2021 (covid-19 ?) and not getting connected to the internet does not seem to be a threat to Google.
However, on the other hand, a budding search engine called You.com released its ChatGPT kind of feature and is also connected to the internet. Based on the testing of your truly, the responses are not up to the mark like chatGPT. But, who knows they can make it better.

GPT-4 is about to get released in the first half of this year. We are keeping a close eye on this area and will keep you posted.

A new version, 2.1 of stable diffusion has been released which supports negative prompts. On top of that, there have been many diffusion models in the AI art segment.
